This is downtown living without feeling like you live in a typical downtown condo. **WHAT MAKES THIS HOME SO SPECIAL** We're Jane and Jarvis. I'm originally from Chicago, Jane is from San Francisco, and we both grew up loving the energy and lifestyle of a big city. We've lived in this home for the past five years with our two kids, and we've loved every minute of it. What makes this place so unique is that you get the best parts of city living without feeling like you're living in a typical high-rise. Because we're on the first floor, you have your **own private entrance directly off the street**. No lobby. No elevators. No walking through hallways or running into neighbors every time you leave the house. You can pull up directly in front of the unit, park, and walk right through your front door. With groceries, luggage, kids, work bags and everything else life throws at you, we can't tell you how convenient that has been. It genuinely feels like having your own home right in the middle of downtown San Diego. But the best part is what happens when you walk out that front door. Petco Park is across the street. CALI, which we think is one of the best restaurants in San Diego, is just a few blocks away. Our favorite Italian restaurant is two blocks away. Coffee shops, wine bars, gyms, concerts, the Children's Museum and countless restaurants are all within walking distance. There have been so many nights when Jane and I have simply walked out our front door and, two minutes later, we're sitting at a beautiful cafe having a glass of wine together people watching (which is our favorite past time!) That lifestyle is what we're going to miss most. If our kids weren't getting older and we didn't need to make schools a bigger priority, we honestly wouldn't leave. That's how much we love living here. **ABOUT THE HOME** The home itself is just as unique as the location. It's a 1,569-square-foot, northeast-facing corner loft** with two bedrooms, two full bathrooms and a bonus office nook. The building has a Manhattan-style loft feel with exposed brick, steel, soaring ceilings and huge windows. Every unit is different, and our corner location brings in an incredible amount of natural light. We built custom glass walls around the bedrooms specifically so that sunlight could continue flowing throughout the entire home. During the day, we rarely even need to turn the lights on. The unit was also originally owned by a designer who used it as her showroom, so the space was professionally designed from top to bottom. We're married, have two kids, and this isn't simply a rental property for us. This is our home, and it has been part of our story for a long time. We originally moved into this building when we first started dating. We lived here for about two years, eventually moved away, got married, started a family, and thought that chapter was over. Then this unit came up for sale. We couldn't resist the opportunity to come back to the place where so many of our early memories were made. So we bought it, moved back downtown, and eventually raised our kids here. There's a lot of life inside these walls, which is why finding the right person to live here next matters to us. Some of our favorite restaurants are one or two blocks away, along with coffee shops, gyms, bars, parks and pretty much everything else you need. We absolutely LOVE being able to walk everywhere. **THE PRIVATE ENTRANCE** This is one of those features we didn't fully appreciate until we lived here. Because the unit is on the first floor, you have your own private entrance. You don't have to walk through the building lobby every time you come home. You can literally pull your car directly in front of the unit, unload groceries, load luggage, meet an Uber, have friends over, and walk straight through your own front door. It gives you the convenience of a house while still living in the heart of downtown. **THE NATURAL LIGHT** We're a northeast-facing corner unit with massive windows stretching toward the ceiling. We added custom glass interior walls specifically so we wouldn't lose all that beautiful sunlight by chopping the loft into dark rooms. The result is a home flooded with natural light. During the day, we rarely even need to turn the lights on. **TWO PARKING SPOTS** Anyone who has lived downtown knows how valuable this is. You get **two garage parking spaces**. It has been amazing for us, especially when family or friends come downtown to visit. Our kids are getting older, and we've reached the stage where finding the right school district for them has become one of our biggest priorities. That is genuinely the reason we're moving. If we weren't entering this next chapter with our kids, we wouldn't want to leave. WHO WE HOPE LIVES HERE NEXT This part matters to us. We're looking for someone who will treat this place like a **home not just another rental. Someone respectful. Someone who appreciates beautiful things and will take care of them. Someone who gets excited about walking out the front door on a Friday night and having the entire city at their fingertips. We want you to enjoy this home. Host friends. Walk to dinner.
